President Isaac Herzog said at the ceremony for receiving the official results of the elections for the 26th Knesset that he trusts "the work of the Shin Bet, the police and the enforcement authorities regarding the investigation." He added: "I respect Shin Bet Chief David Zini and his work. I respect Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and her work. I spoke with both of them this morning. Tension between the Shin Bet and the Attorney General's Office has existed in Israel before and will exist again. This is a built-in tension in a democratic state." Herzog further said: "I condemn the rudeness and racist expressions we have heard recently. There is no place for this toward any public in Israel."
