Herzog opposes dismissal of attorney general: No obligation to add discord even after Tisha B'Av

|
President Isaac Herzog has again expressed his opposition to the dismissal of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara. On his X account, he wrote that "the government's decision to postpone the discussion about her dismissal was based on the intention 'not to increase discord in the nation before Tisha B'Av,' and I remind you that there is no obligation to increase discord afterward either." He added: "I have already expressed my opposition to the dismissal procedure scheduled for Monday. I emphasize: Anyone who threatens that every Tisha B'Av has an end to Tisha B'Av has not learned any historical lesson. We are marking 20 years since the Disengagement, and it is critical that we learn from the mistakes that led a large public to feel there was no listening and sensitivity to their devastating pain."
