National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding an urgent discussion and clarification regarding the funding source for humanitarian aid transferred to the Gaza Strip. He noted that the decision to resume aid supply to Gaza was made in the cabinet 'hastily and without a vote,' and that he discovered that about two weeks earlier, 'Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich brought a proposal to the government defined as an urgent security need, without specifying what that need was. The discussion was not previously on the agenda and was held toward the end of the meeting when a significant number of ministers had left.' He added: 'It is unacceptable that Israeli citizens should fund from their own pockets food and supplies for an enemy population.'
