Antisemitism in Canada: Police investigate shootings at two Toronto-area synagogues

|
Canadian police are investigating two separate shooting incidents targeting synagogues in the Toronto area. Bullets struck the entrance doors of Shaarei Shamayim Synagogue in north Toronto and Bais Abraham Yosef of Toronto synagogue in the suburb of Thornhill. Local police reported no injuries and said it is too early to determine if there is a connection between the incidents. Following the shootings, authorities will increase security presence around Jewish institutions in the area. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow condemned the attacks: 'These are despicable acts of antisemitism, hate and intimidation.'
