On Monday evening a man carrying an axe entered the Lidl supermarket in the town of Jeumont in northern France, mere minutes away from the Belgian border. Saying nothing, the man went on to attack customers, reportedly leaving one seriously injured and two others with less severe wounds.
The motivation for the attacks is currently unclear.
