Coordinator of Government Operations in the Occupied Territories Maj. Gen. Rassan Aliyan announced Wednesday the number of Gazan merchants who are allowed to pass through the crossings into Israel will be increased by another 3,000.
The permits will be issued to merchants who have been vaccinated or recovered from COVID. The move, approved by the political echelon following a security assessment, will take effect from Thursday.
"All civilian measures applied to the Gaza Strip are conditional on the continued maintenance of security stability and their expansion will be examined in accordance with the assessment of the situation," said the military in a statement.
