UAE reportedly will participate in Gaza peacekeeping force if one is formed

The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, referred to the cease-fire talks between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. According to the newspaper, the engagement is now focused on a renewed proposal that establishes the presence of forces under the supervision of the United Nations at the Philadelphi and Netazarim corridoes and at the Rafah crossing instead of the Israeli forces,- on the condition that the presence be limited in time. Sources told Al-Akhbar that the United Arab Emirates announced its willingness to participate in such a force. The sources also claimed that Egypt fears "Israeli procrastination" and "evading answers until after the U.S. elections."
