Jordan attacks Iran-backed drug smugglers' warehouses in Syria

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan conducted airstrikes in Syria against warehouses and hiding places of drug smugglers linked to pro-Iranian militias according to local intelligence officials. Reports in Syria say that the attack occurred in the As-Suwayda area in southern Syria near the Jordanian border. Lately, drug smuggling between the two countries increased and during December, there have even been confrontations between smugglers and the Jordanian military. (Lior Ben Ari, Reuters)
