The ministerial committee for the dismissal of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, headed by Minister Amichai Shikli, decided to summon her again for a hearing after she failed to appear today. The second hearing will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM. Earlier, Baharav-Miara stated that "the hearing allows the government to dismiss for inappropriate and corrupt reasons: as a response to preventing illegal actions, ordering an investigation of a coalition member, refusing to stop criminal proceedings against a serving cabinet member or as part of a 'political deal' to ensure the government's survival. This is a superficial hearing whose outcome is predetermined, and whose meaning is a severe blow to the rule of law and Israeli democracy."
