Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Public Security Minister Omer Bar-Lev agreed on Thursday to transfer NIS 181 million to Israel Police as a result of the recent terror flood in which 11 Israelis were killed.
The Prime Minister's Office said that the budget would be invested in strengthening the police, recruiting officers, and the establishment of a Border Police Brigade on the basis of reserve forces.
NIS 111 million will be transferred to the police immediately, and the rest will be transferred by August. The budget will also be used to recruit 200 permanent officers, purchase vests, helmets, and motorcycles, and recruit volunteers.
