The IDF and Shin Bet confirmed the elimination of Rafah Brigade commander in Hamas, Nail Abu Abid, noting that he also served as head of the terror organization's operations division. According to the statement, he was appointed following the elimination of Mohammed Shabana, and previously held a series of positions: deputy commander of the Rafah Brigade and commander of the Tel Sultan and Yabna battalions. In his role, he was responsible for managing the activities of the brigade's terrorists and directing them to advance and execute terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. Additionally, he worked to rebuild the brigade's military capacity, which suffered a devastating blow throughout the war.
