Gadi Moses at Rabin memorial: 'He knew how to take responsibility - and would not have given up on us for two years'

|
Former hostage Gadi Moses spoke at the memorial rally for Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, saying that "we must convince the people that choosing peace is choosing the future of our children and the revival of our nation. Rabin believed in these things, and he paid for it with his life. He knew how to take responsibility - not just for the successes. Rabin, who immediately after the failed rescue attempt of Nachshon Waxman from Hamas terrorists stood before the cameras and said 'I, as Prime Minister and Defense Minister, bear responsibility for the decision on the operation,' was an honest man and a brave leader, and I know that if he were Prime Minister today, no one would be left behind. He would not have given up on us, the hostages, for two years, and he would not close his eyes until everyone returned home, including the fallen."
