During the consultation round with President Isaac Herzog on forming the government, Joint List Chairman Yossef Jabareen criticized President Herzog and claimed he did not do enough against racism and incitement against the Arab public, and the president responded: "Excuse me, but I think I was very clear about this, very clear things were said against racism." Jabareen also attacked the current government and said: "There is ongoing incitement led by the prime minister and also National Security Minister Ben-Gvir, who is responsible for lawlessness in the field of crime and for statements that if they were heard in Europe, and we replaced the word Arab with Jew, we would rightfully say this is anti-Semitism."
