Activists from the organization 'Soldiers for the Hostages' and the 'Standing Together' movement held a press conference following the political-security cabinet's decision to capture Gaza City. During the declaration, Captain (res.) Ron Feiner, who was imprisoned after refusing to report for reserve duty, spoke and said: "The decision to launch an operation for the final capture of Gaza is clearly illegal. It will put the hostages, soldiers and civilians at risk." According to him, "It is given by a messianic government that has no public legitimacy and whose only concern is its political survival. We declare that if we are called to reserve duty - we will not report."
