Trump administration: The plan to end the war in Ukraine was formulated by us, not by Russia

|
The U.S. State Department denied claims made by several U.S. senators that President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Ukraine was not formulated by Washington but was actually composed of demands set by Russia. "This is an absolute lie," State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott wrote on X. Those senators claimed that Secretary of State Marco Rubio told them the plan does not represent the official U.S. position and that it is only "a starting point" for discussions that includes "a Russian wish list." Rubio himself also responded on X, saying the proposal was formulated by the U.S.: "It is offered as a robust framework for ongoing negotiations."
