Foreign Minister Gideon Saar spoke over the weekend with his Jamaican counterpart, Kamina Johnson Smith, following the deployment of an Israeli medical delegation in response to the hurricane that struck the country. Saar informed the minister that the Foreign Ministry will donate mobile phone-compatible ultrasound devices to Jamaican hospitals, enabling rapid medical response. "This equipment is especially needed given that five hospitals in Jamaica were destroyed in the hurricane," the Foreign Ministry said. The two also discussed the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding on health cooperation between Israel and Jamaica.
