Wall Street Journal: Radar of American THAAD battery damaged by drone in Jordan

|
The U.S. military is working to quickly replace a radar belonging to a THAAD interceptor system deployed in Jordan that was damaged in a drone attack. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal, citing an official American source. The radar is a critical component of the ground-based air defense system that intercepts ballistic missiles outside the atmosphere. It is also claimed, based on satellite imagery and statements from two other American sources, that Iran is attempting to strike air defense infrastructure across the region, including in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, where THAAD, Patriot and other batteries are located. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) declined to comment.
