Senior Likud official: 'PM won't change convenient agenda for such controversial legislation'

|
Likud is holding consultations following Degel HaTorah's announcement of a "green light" for discussions on the military service exemption law. Party sources said the announcement is not acceptable, and they are unwilling to take the long road and pay the public price only to end up without a law. "The Prime Minister will not allow changing the public agenda that is currently convenient for him, in favor of such controversial legislation that ultimately won't produce a law," said a senior Likud official. "The Haredim's attempt to buy time cannot be at Likud's expense."
