The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference) on Monday announced quarterly financial assistance to approximately 30,000 Israeli Holocaust survivors who qualify for income supplements from the National Insurance Institute. The assistance will be in the form of rechargeable cards for purchasing food. In addition to the one-time distribution of cards during holidays last year, this time the card will be loaded with funds quarterly to ensure the ongoing welfare of Holocaust survivors, in addition to the annual compensation they receive. The distribution of the Claims Conference food cards is carried out in cooperation with the Eshel Chabad organization, and with the support fund of the German Federal Ministry of Finance.
