Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will declare at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, that Israel is committed to zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The event, which will be attended by dozens of world leaders, will include crucial discussions on the international efforts to curb climate change.
Over the past week, Bennett has agreed with Energy Minister Karine Elharar to present a national plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Israel to zero by 2050.
A proposal to this effect will be submitted for government approval in the coming weeks.
