The University of Alberta in Canada announced the dismissal of Samantha Pearson, director of the Center Against Sexual Assaults at the institution, after she cast doubt on the fact that in the terrorist attack of October 7, Hamas terrorists raped and sexually assaulted Israeli women. The storm caused by the case in Canada comes against the backdrop of the outrage in Israel over the deafening silence of the women's organizations around the world in the face of the rape, murder and kidnapping of Israeli women. Pearson, on behalf of the center she heads, signed a letter initiated by two local female politicians in the province of Ontario that called on lawmakers in Canada to resign in protest of Prime Minister Trudeau's refusal to call for a cease-fire. The signatories of the letter also condemn the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP), Jagmeet Singh, for, according to them, "repeating baseless accusations that Palestinians are guilty of sexual violence."
