Defense Minister Benny Gantz said on Sunday that Israel meticulously protects the rights of its Muslim residents, under the law and in accordance with agreements with neighboring countries.
Speaking at a memorial for Israeli soldiers killed during the fighting in Jerusalem in the 1967 Six Day War, Gantz said at the same time, Israel protects the rights of Jews to march to the Western Wall and celebrate Jerusalem Day.
"We will not allow provocations and assaults on our sovereignty or the security of our citizens," Gantz said.
