Prime Minister Naftali Bennett participated in Knesset’s “Unto Every Person There Is a Name” Holocaust memorial ceremony on Wednesday and told the story of his wife Gilat's grandparents- Eli and Carla, after which their kids are named.
"He never could forgive himself that he didn't succeed at protecting his mother and two brothers that were murdered by the Polish," Bennett shared Gilat's grandfather's experience. "He blamed himself.
"After the war Eli married Carla, she was also the only survivor from her family, and they had two boys - Moshe and David. My daughter Michal-Carla is named after grandmother Carla, and my daughter Avigail Eliah is named after grandfather Eli. May there memory be a blessing."
