Israel reveals synagogue from Second Temple period in northern part of country

|
Excavation in the northern part of Israel uncovers a 2,000-year synagogue from the Second Temple period as reported on Sunday.
The Jewish synagogue was discovered near the town of Migdal, which during that time was a main Jewish settlement, and was also used as the military base of Flavius Josephus during the First Jewish–Roman War.
This is the second synagogue that was discovered in Migdal, and it is the first time that two synagogues are discovered in one place during the period of the Second Temple.
