Iran’s parliament speaker said the country is engaged in what he described as a “major world war,” accusing the United States of publicly signaling negotiations while secretly preparing for a ground attack.
Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, in remarks reported by Iranian state media, said Washington was sending “messages of negotiation and dialogue” while planning military action.

“Our enemy speaks publicly of negotiations while secretly planning a ground attack, without realizing our forces are waiting for the Americans to enter,” he said.
“Our launches continue, our missiles will not stop, and our determination has only grown stronger,” he said.
He also pointed to Iran-backed groups across the region, saying Hezbollah in Lebanon has become “an important and effective part of the resistance,” while forces in Iraq are “fighting bravely” and the Houthis in Yemen have “breathed new life” into the effort.
“We are in a major world war and must prepare ourselves for a long, difficult and complex path,” he said.
Ghalibaf said Iran would not end the conflict without achieving victory.
“We will not leave this war except with victory,” he said. “We will not allow our enemies to leave without demonstrating our power and turning this war into a lesson for any aggressor.”
