Hamas political bureau member Basem Naim responded to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s call for Hamas to release all the hostages, accusing Abbas of disparaging his own people. “He described a large and authentic part of our people in offensive terms,” Naim said. “Abbas repeatedly insists on blaming our people for Israel’s crimes and aggression.”
