IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin on Monday reiterated Israel's goals in its Gaza operation during a visit to the Morag Corridor. “We are here in the Morag Corridor, between Khan Younis and Rafah, to increase pressure on Hamas to bring hostages home and dismantle its government and military wing," he said.
“Our top priority is the hostages. Every soldier, from division commanders to junior troops, understands this mission,” Defrin stressed. He highlighted operations targeting Hamas’ infrastructure, including the elimination of its fifth Shejaiya battalion commander and vowed to maintain “operational ambiguity” to preserve the element of surprise.
