Defense Minister Benny Gantz said on Monday that the discipline exhibited by residents of the communities in the south of the country, enabled the government to make decisions and the military to complete its operation in Gaza.
"We will continue to work together to improve the security of civilians and bolster Israel's fortitude," Gantz said during a meeting with mayors near the border.
"We will not allow residents anywhere to be held hostage by threats," he said.
