The IDF and the Shin Bet stated that they eliminated about 20 Hamas terrorists from Hamas' Shati Battalion, including Nukhba terrorists, reconnaissance operatives, and snipers. During the attack, the IDF and Shin Bet killed Muhammad Abu Khatab, a platoon commander in the Shati Battalion. Abu Hatab, who was a sniper, killed commando soldier Sergeant first class Tal Lahat in an operation to destroy terrorist infrastructure at the UNWRA headquarters in Gaza City on July 9. They also reported the death of Nukhba terrorist Ismail Shachka, who took part in the October 7 massacre.
