The body of Staff Sgt. Tomer Yaakov Ahimas, 20 who fell fighting near Kibbutz Nirim on October 7, was returned to Israel from the Gaza Strip along with the bodies of Maya Goren and Oren Goldin. The head of the local council of Lehavim, his hometown, said: "Tomer, our beloved friend, a son of the community, fell in a heroic battle in Kibbutz Nirim. For more than nine months his body was held captive by Hamas, and this evening he was rescued by the IDF. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Lehavim cemetery - we will all stand with Israeli flags. The beloved Ahims family - the Lehavim community embraces you. We are all with you."
