The IDF published its investigation of the October 7, 2023 battle in Moshav Yachini, where four civilians, an IDF officer and a Border Police officer were killed - and 11 people, including an IDF soldier and a firefighter, were murdered on the nearby road. According to the investigation, eight terrorists infiltrated the moshav located near Highway 34, between Sderot and Netivot, with detailed knowledge of its strategic points - and embarked on a killing spree. The IDF had taken the long weapons from the civilian security team, which was left incapacitated and unable to defend the moshav. Yachini's location resulted in many forces flowing to the area, which saved the moshav from an even larger massacre - and eliminated the terrorists who arrived poorly equipped.
