In her testimony before the UN Security Council, hostage survivor Ilana Gritzewsky emphasized that "People see my face and think I'm free, but trauma doesn't disappear with release. With every siren, I return there, to hell. The difference is that I have a safe room - and Matan doesn't." Gritzewsky, who immigrated to Israel from Mexico, accused the international community of hypocrisy: "Why are cartels in Mexico considered criminals and terrorists, while Hamas - which raped women, burned children and kidnapped elderly people - is not condemned in the same way? Why is our pain questioned?" Gritzewsky called on the Security Council to demand the immediate release of the hostages: "Not tomorrow, not in the distant future - but now."
