The Defense Ministry and Rafael announced that the new version of the powerful laser interceptor 'Iron Beam' – previously called 'Light Shield' – will arrive from the production line and be integrated into the Air Force, ahead of its operational deployment under Iron Dome next year. "This is just the first milestone, Israel is leading a revolution in the battlefield. The laser will break the economic equation and create a huge gap between interception costs – just a few shekels – and the cost of the intercepted munitions," they stated.
