|
The State Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment in Traffic Court against Mohammed Badir, a 33-year-old truck driver, for negligent homicide after fatally striking 78-year-old pedestrian Esti Ilani in Bnei Brak four months ago. According to the indictment, Badir 'was driving in a cemetery, diverted his gaze to avoid hitting graves and continued reversing.' Ilani, who was exiting the cemetery, was struck by the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. The indictment noted that the accident occurred 'due to the defendant's reckless driving, in violation of administrative orders and without taking sufficient safety precautions.'
