The Republican Party in Maryland withdrew its support for a state Senate candidate after he spread antisemitic conspiracy theories. Party leaders decided to revoke their endorsement of Harold Maldonado following a series of his social media posts claiming that Mossad controls local elected officials, was behind the September 11 attacks and that Israel was also linked to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the assassination attempt on U.S. President Donald Trump. Local Republican Chairman Dennis Melby said the party 'opposes antisemitism and all forms of conspiracy theories.'
