Gazan media outlets reported 12 casualties in the attack on the Khadija School in western Deir al-Balah in the center of the Gaza Strip. According to Palestinian reports, the school served as a shelter for displaced persons. However, the IDF has recently targeted schools that were being used for hiding Hamas terrorists with the civilian population.
