Defense Minister Benny Gantz ordered on Saturday a freeze on a scheduled increase in the number of work permits Israel issues to laborers from the Gaza Strip after a rocket was fired from the Palestinian enclave into southern Israel overnight.
"The terrorist organization Hamas bears responsibility for everything that happens within the Gaza Strip and out it against the State of Israel, and it will bear the consequences," a statement by Israel's liaison to the Palestinians read.
