A peace summit in Cairo, which aimed to alleviate tensions in the Israel-Hamas conflict, ended without a collective joint statement, except for an official declaration from the Egyptian presidency due to Western countries insisting on including a statement recognizing Israel's right to self-defense and condemnation of Hamas.
