Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his speech to the Knesset plenum that "it is a great privilege and honor for me to speak before this honorable house. I do this on behalf of India and as a representative of an ancient civilization. I bring with me the blessings of 1.5 billion Indians, and a message of peace and partnership. I was born on the same day that India recognized Israel. My honorable friends, I also carry with me the deepest condolences from the people of India for all the lives lost and for every family whose world was shattered in the barbaric and cruel terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7. We share in the pain, India stands with Israel at this moment and beyond."
