Swedish singer Eric Saade appeared in the opening act of the 2024 Eurovision in Malmo wearing a keffiyeh wrapped around his wrist. Saade, whose father is Palestinian, performed his entry to Eurovision from 2011, titled "Popular." Contest officials have banned displaying flags of countries not participating in this year's contest, as well as political statements.
