The IDF and Defense Ministry on Wednesday announced a joint plan with the National Insurance Institute to provide formal recognition and memorial honors to civilians who fought during Hamas’ October 7 attack, as well as to hostages murdered in Gaza and individuals killed in terror attacks while serving in the military.
The program, unveiled in a joint statement, includes military representation at civilian funerals and the placement of commemorative plaques on gravesites bearing the state emblem.
