Egypt has proposed a cease fire to be in place for a number of hours, to allow talks to restore calm, the Al Arabiya Network reported on Saturday.
According to the report, Egypt asked Israel to refrain from attacks on Gaza for a limited time but the Israeli government had yet to respond.
