Iran cannot control Strait of Hormuz, retired U.S. Navy admiral says

James G. Foggo says the Strait of Hormuz is 'nobody's strait, nobody owns it'

It was illegal for Iran to control traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Admiral James G. Foggo, U.S. Navy (ret.), the Dean of the Center for Maritime Strategy in the United States.
He told ILTV, “The Strait of Hormuz is an international strait. So it is nobody’s strait, nobody owns it. Everybody has access to it under the UN Convention on Law of the Sea. So I find it outrageous that the government of Iran would try to control the Strait and control traffic.”
