Air Force commander tries to stop reservists letter calling for refusal of service

Air Force Commander Major General Tomer Bar met with senior Israeli Air Force reservists in an attempt to prevent the sending of a letter drafted by reservists in the force, calling for reservists to refuse to serve in their squadrons. IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir also participated in one of the meetings. The letter was drafted against the backdrop of the continued advancement of judicial reform, the dismissal of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and the beginning of the process to impeach Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara. Bar asked the former Air Force reservists to give him time before they make a public move. Most of the signatories are not currently active in reserve service.
