Court extends detention of Military Police detective Michel Pergin suspected of raping 14-year-old girl

|
Ashdod resident Michel Pergin is the Military Police detective suspected of raping a 14-year-old girl, together with a 17-year-old boy. The Ashkelon Magistrate's Court extended his detention by four days. The boy's detention was also extended until the 30th of the month. The judge determined that "a review of the investigation material indicates there is reasonable basis for suspicion against the respondent for committing the offenses." Pergin's defense attorney, Ehud Gabai, argued: "My client has no criminal record. They're attacking him because of some little girl who, if the court checks her TikTok, they'll understand she's far from being an innocent child." In her police complaint, the girl described being raped by the two three months ago, while they filmed the acts.
