Three days after the killing of Hamas commander in Gaza, Izz al-Din Haddad, the Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported that Mohammed Odeh has been chosen as his successor. Haddad was nearly the last remaining senior military official Hamas had left in the Strip since October 7. As far as is known, among the few still alive is Odeh, who was the head of Hamas intelligence staff at the time of the massacre. His photograph was first revealed by the IDF in September.
