The coalition has withdrawn its bills that were scheduled for preliminary reading today, for the second consecutive week, due to disputes with ultra-Orthodox lawmakers over the military service exemption law crisis. After the IDF launched an enforcement operation yesterday against draft dodgers, United Torah Judaism threatened to topple the government 'even if just one ultra-Orthodox person is arrested.' Later, sources in the ultra-Orthodox factions claimed that the IDF was conducting a 'trial balloon' and noted that 'the crisis is behind us.' According to them, 'They wanted to see how we would react and what would happen. We see that it ended with nothing and nobody.'
