The Police Investigations Department (PID) has lifted the gag order on the investigation of Lahav 433 Commander Meni Benjamin, who is suspected of breach of trust and abuse of power, revealing that as part of the investigation, the former mayor of Nazareth, his associates and senior members of the Bukhari crime organization were arrested earlier. "Benjamin is suspected of acting with a conflict of interest, including maintaining contact during the investigation with the former mayor, with whom he had an unreported personal acquaintance, and even sharing police information with them," the PID statement said. "Upon realizing evidence had been gathered against him, Benjamin is suspected of approaching various police authorities in the north to transfer the investigation materials to another unit that is also under his command." The investigation continues.
