The Haifa District Court sentenced Fares Abu al-Hija (32), a resident of Kaukab Abu al-Hija in the north, to four years and seven months in prison and an additional two years suspended sentence. He was convicted under a plea agreement on charges of contact with a foreign agent. During his interrogation, information was obtained indicating that he was in contact with an Iranian intelligence operative and that he received money in exchange for carrying out various tasks. He was arrested after being caught photographing streets near the home of then-Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in Moshav Amikam.
