India and the United States have reached a deadlock in trade deal negotiations. This was announced by India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Sitharaman noted that making concessions or demands beyond this point would be 'very difficult' for both countries. 'If there is room for maneuver, India and the U.S. will act accordingly,' she added. Last February, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a new trade deal with India. He declared then that the U.S. would reduce reciprocal tariffs on imports from India from 25% to 18%, while New Delhi would cut its tariffs to zero.
